How We Strengthen Police Governance in Ontario

Police Governance Ontario supports civilian police governance across the province. Boards face increasing complexity, shifting legislation, and heightened expectations from their communities. Our work helps boards navigate these responsibilities with clarity, confidence, and a strong foundation in effective oversight.

We support Municipal police service boards, OPP Detachment boards, and First Nations boards through three key pillars that guide everything we do: Education, Expertise, and Advocacy.

Why This Work Matters

Police governance plays a critical role in supporting public trust, community safety, and accountable policing. When boards understand their role and have access to clear, consistent support, oversight is stronger and communities benefit.

PGO is committed to elevating the standard of police governance across Ontario so every board can serve its community with confidence and integrity.
